Welcome to the  a la Carême Blog!

My name is Patrycja Domurad and I have been baking and writing alike since I was 14 years old, perfecting my skill with the love and support of my hungry family and friends.

Baking has always been a passion of mine. There is a distinct pleasure I associate to indulging in something I have created from scratch. I love the culinary arts because of the pleasure it brings to those in my life and nothing else in life has been as rewarding as providing my friends and loved ones with a taste of decadence, a moment of sweet bliss and an escape into confectionary-coma.

These past 8 years, I have had the fortune of being able to pursue two of my passions – with a ‘hobby’ of baking and a growing writing portfolio, I fused the two together and created this blog! My passions have now become my dream, and my dreams are now becoming my reality.

My mission is to learn as much as I can, share that knowledge with you all and collect as many priceless reactions to the joys of ingesting my hard-laboured creations. Inspired by the life and successes of the Great Marie Antoine Carême, I created this blog to chronicle my baking adventures, culinary successes and share my love for la vie gourmand with anyone I could.

I would like to thank my boyfriend, Misiu, for his continued loved and support!  For not only eating the fruits of my labour with relish but for supporting my dreams, encouraging my first enrolment in culinary college and of course, discovering for me, the incredible story of Carême. I love you!
